SEA LEVEL

at Sea Level the landscape is designed to just  walk around and relax into what I hope is a peaceful place. I am keen on SL landscapes that are surreal or magical; offering what cannot be seen in RL.  The welcome area here is also the launch place for the other two places

SOUND SPHERES

this place is designed specifically to experience the sounds triggered as you walk through them.  Please wear headphones and walk through each sphere,  Sometimes the sounds are pleasant and sometimes discordant but many will overlap as you walk through them.  it is possible for you to walk forwards and then backwards to experience the overlapping sounds.  Some of the sounds are samples from music, some are from music made by me, some are just sounds of the world.

SEAHORSES

is also designed to walk through like the spheres but here the visual aim is different.  I wanted to create a ghostly feel to add another dimension to the sounds.

How can you sell this kind of art?

Second way: Export to your own computer and sell in opensim

  1. Export your objects with Firestorm
  2. Intergrid transport: Move stuff from one grid to another via Firestorm
  3. You can export anything you created out of all your own content.
  4. Set up sim on a stick (SOAS) on your own computer
  5. Opensim Prmer: Hypergrid, OAR, IAR, SOAS, Kitely, Inworlds, Markets
  6. Import your objects into your own sim on your own computer (Firestorm)
  7. To display the entire build, set up a scripted transporter.
  8. You can set the points it goes to and the wait times between moves.
  9. You can provide voiced or text comments at key points.
  10. You can sell art pieces or an OAR file on the Kitely market.
  11. You may be able to sell this art piece for installation on other computers.
  12. But you need to check the license on your version of SOAS first.

How to handle a Hypergrid address

From any Hypergrid-enabled grid, paste the address into the address bar of Firestorm and press enter. Or paste it into the world map search bar of any viewer, search, and click Teleport when the destination is found. If it doesn't work, don't give up. Try again later. Some hypergrid destinations are offline part of the day.

Midtown Arts Museum is launching its first participation storybuild on Monday, 9.1.2014, Wear Your Goggles to the Goldrush. All elements are ready for visitors, explorers and amateur sleuths to plunder. A storybuild mystery is not an event that is attended. Rather clues and story are collected, assembled and written by the participants who journey through it. It is writing via pictures and conversation - - the natural, entertaining and effortless way. Oakes Valley blog
