2016 HG: EDU: Browser-based viewer at last. The Army gets it done! And an alternative coming

Browser-based viewer at last.
The Army gets it done!  And an alternative coming
The Halcyon version of OpenSimulator now is getting a browser-based viewer.  That is not yet available in the Core-Dev version, but can be since the Army developed it and is releasing it to Open Source.

An alternative route

  • Punk Office
  • Punk Office, Virtual reality
  • I talked a bit with the guy running the place.
  • He had a little virtual world running on Sunday, but it may not be there now.
  • Directly accessible in a browser.
  • I did not even have to log in.  Just give an avatar name.
  • I immediately felt comfortable there. Nothing to see.  But somebody to talk to.
  • When you go there, bring a friend.  Don't expect to build.
  • Evaluate the world for interacting with other people.
  • If this were available in OpenSim, it would be a game-changer.
