2017 WW: MAG: The Web Report: Education and Educators: Planning

The Web Report: Education and Educators: Planning
Plan for a video-based web magazine reporting on educational activities in virtual worlds.  Each edition/issue would have a lead editor and some others.  The edition would consist of videos  about education in virtual worlds with introductory videos made in web-world sets.

Tasks of editors

  • Find and select content for each education issue/edition.
  • Get videos produced to present selected content.
  • Get videos posted on YouTube.
  • Produce a talk show for each issue/edition.
  • Talk show could include some people featured in the videos.
  • Talk show could include educators merely interested in virtual worlds.
  • Provide text and links as needed to accompany the videos.
  • Present schedule is "As available."  Amount of content is up to the editor(s)
  • Selby will handle final make-up and publication for now.
  • Publication will be in Virtual Outworlding for now.

Talk-show task roles needed

  • Producer-manager.  Finds guests, arranges time, gives practice in web-world.
  • Host. Manages the conversation.  (The may be 2 or 3 guests on related topics.)
  • Videograper.  Captures video, edits and publishes it.
  • Promoter. All on staff act as promoters.
  • Task roles are things that someone has to do.
  • One person could do all of them on a slow publication schedule.
  • Educators may be willing and able to produce a video on their own.

  • Valibrarian Gregg, Education (including libraries)
  • Mal Burns, General Editor (all editions)
  • Selby Evans, Managing Editor (all editions)
